What we collect

  • Account details — your email address and, if you add one, your name and profile photo.
  • What you tell Ozwal — the people you add, your likes, dislikes, dealbreakers, reflections and the questions you ask. This is the substance of the app; without it there is nothing to personalise.
  • Location — only if you allow it, and only while you're using the app. It's used to find places near you. You can decline and type a location instead; nothing about the app stops working.
  • Purchases — subscription status from Apple or our web payment processor. We never see or store your card details.
  • Diagnostics — errors and basic usage counts so we can fix what breaks.

How we use it

To answer your questions, remember context between conversations, deliver notifications you asked for, and keep your subscription in sync. Your conversations and profile are sent to our AI provider to generate a response. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who can see it

Your profile and conversations are private to your account. Content only reaches another person when you explicitly share a synthesis or connect with them. Service providers we rely on — hosting, database, AI generation, email delivery, payment processing — handle data only to run those functions for us.

Deleting your data

Open Settings → Delete account. That removes your profile, people, conversations, reflections and preferences from our database. It cannot be undone. You can also clear conversations individually and leave the rest of your profile in place.

Children

Ask Ozwal isn't intended for anyone under 13.
